MAC Cosmetics, short for Makeup Art Cosmetics, was born in Toronto, Canada, in 1984. The brand was founded by Frank Toskan and Frank Angelo, two makeup artists who were frustrated by the lack of quality cosmetics that could withstand the rigors of a photoshoot.
